At work I am often researching the psychology behind resilience and optimism and all that stuff, and then trying to come up with activities that mean students can learn about it in an interactive way. 

 

This book is the opposite of that. It is a collection of activities or risks that have evidence behind them as to why they help develop resilience and optimism, empathy, and kindness. 50 Risks was written before COVID-19 and edited during it. I think in many ways lockdown has made some parents practise these risks without realising, and in other cases it has made parents more fearful for their children, and another layer of cotton wool has been wrapped over them.
